This week saw the folks at EPIS and at ERI in good company when the Duke of Edinburgh came along to help celebrate the 40th Birthday of Edinburgh Research and Innovation - ERI - the commercialisation arm of the university.

 

With an enviable list of commercialisation success the Playfair Library in Old College was host to the ERI reception featuring many of the past and present commercial stars of The University of of Edinburgh. EPIS entrepreneurs were in good mood and keen to show HRH their wares - ranging from glow in the dark mushrooms, to fertility aids, to sophisticated lighting and new media products.

 

The reception also pulled in many of the supporters and investors that surround the commercialisation activities so it made for a very pleasant afternoon for networking and renewing old acquaintances. Great to see EPIS so well represented and to see what an important role it is playing in the stimulation of innovative new businesses in Scotland.
