Being a Business Mentor
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Individuals who have ideally had at least 1 full board position, preferably on an SME and are experienced in the early and hazardous years of developing young companies.
When matched with an appropriate EPIS Entrepreneur they should be able to offer some in-depth knowledge of the target sector of the business they are helping to create and the entrepreneur they are mentoring.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
We aim to hold a half-day induction course for business mentors and after matching with an EPIS Entrepreneur hopefully, they can make themselves available up to half a day a month over the 12-month placement of the EPIS Entrepreneur.
WHAT KIND OF HELP IS NEEDED?
Mentoring is about support and overcoming isolation. It is a lonely business building a new start company and having first hand guidance, introductions to contacts and understanding will all be key elements of help.
Mentoring is not designed for the provision of detailed business or professional advice.
HOW DO I JOIN?
You will be asked for:
- a copy of your c.v.
- a statement of your availability to take on the role
and
- a detailed list of the sectors you are experienced and interested in.
You will then be invited to the University for a brief interview and the opportunity to meet the EPIS team.
